Looking After Yourself

Self-confidence is how you feel about yourself in relation to others. It can be to do with any part your life - your friends, your relationships, your abilities, your body - anything and everything.

If you have low self-confidence you may think less of yourself compared to other people. It may mean that you compare yourself negatively to other people and criticise yourself a lot.

It can be very hard to see things clearly and get a proper perspective, when you’re right in the middle of the situation yourself. So it is always good to talk to someone and when you do you will see that we are all different and all have different qualities – different not better or worse – just different.

Most importantly remember there is beauty in everyone, think about the things you like about yourself and the things you have done that make you feel good.

Try to concentrate on the positive things about yourself, this will help to build your self confidence and self appreciation.  Make sure you have fun, engage in activities you enjoy this will help to make you feel better and will make you feel happy and positive about yourself.

Whatever your particular worry, there is always something you can do to make yourself feel better.

The most important thing overall is to talk to someone. Whether that’s to a professional, family member or a friend
